Description
It’s Decision Time – Do we race him, or do we sell him?
Never an easy question to answer. Emotions can sometimes play a dominating overrider of a sensible business decision. Frustratingly, in our ownership group, not everybody is on the same page, which makes it even more difficult to fairly and equitably decide what’s best to do.
UNTIL DAWN has promised the world, but he is a slower maturing type, a typical Pierro. He’s a good type of horse and was an excellent trial winner on the 3rd of January at Warwick Farm which attracted interest from overseas connections.
He had been trotting & cantering since the trial to await overseas vetting, unfortunately the vet never arrived and the interest fell through.
UNTIL DAWN has missed a couple of key gallops & we’re not keen to run him on these wet Sydney tracks. The horse is ready to head to the races in the coming fortnight, however some in the ownership wanted to sell after the impressive trial win whilst others want to race him.
The only transparent and equitable thing to do, is to put the horse up for Unreserved Sale on the open market through this online auction and let all market forces determine his true value.
He could be a lovely horse for export to Asia or alternatively he could be perfect for Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, etc.
Off his formlines and breeding he looks destined to be winning races for his new connections. This is a horse we should be putting a healthy reserve on BUT as with every horse we offer online, we offer them for unreserved sale to dissolve the co-ownership. Therefore, with confidence you know he’s on the market from the opening bid.
