• One of BLUE STRATUM’s owners has decided they would like to sell their 5% share in order to focus on younger stock coming through.
• Only running the nine times, he still has a lot of racing upside to offer. He has won his owners almost $225,000 to date.
• Having had his final run last preparation on the 5th of November, he is currently out on a spell.
• BLUE STRATUM has proven himself to be a very talented horse in the McEvoy stable, coming second first time out in the G.3 Maribyrnong Plate. He beat multiple future stakes winners in ODINSON and CATOGGIO. He has gone on to run in multiple blacktype races, coming 4th in the G.3 Vain Stakes and also 4th in the Listed Inglis Nursery.
• This colt is by the multiple G.1 producing BLUE POINT. His recent progeny have included the G.3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner ICARIAN DREAM, G.1 placed BOSUSTOW as well as ALEPPO PINE and POINT BARROW, who are currently in the 2025 Golden Slipper market. This year is looking like an exciting season for the stallion who is currently operating at a rate of 4.5% stakes winners to runners.
• BLUE STRATUM is out of the Stratum mare TAWTEEN. She was a tough, sound mare who ran 9 times at blacktype level, was a metro listed winner and was G.3 placed. She has a flawless 100% winners to runners record.
• The family includes the G.3 winner SPRUNG, the listed winner WELL SPRUNG and the G.1 winner TALI’SLUCKYBUSRIDE.
• BLUE STRATUM’s second dam hails from America, a theme which has had a lot of success in Australia with the likes of SWITZERLAND and RUSSIAN REVOLUTION tracing back to America through their damlines.
