Description
Nettles is a lightly raced 4yo mare, having won 2 times and been placed a further 3 times from her 13 starts. She’s versatile when it comes to ground conditions and has been competitive from 1000m-1400m. After starting her campaign well, being unlucky not to win at provincial level, her form has tapered off late in the preparation (despite being beaten less than 2.5l her last two starts) and she appears ready for a rest and reset.
Nettles is by Overshare, a Group 1 producing son of I Am Invincible. She is out of En Why Sea Dream, a half-sister to Group 3 winner Our Mate Art and whose 4 foals of racing age have all won. Two full relations are coming through to provide further pedigree updates.
Re her throat procedure - the mare underwent a simple standing procedure to address an epiglottic entrapment in June of 2023. She's had no further complications and has won multiple times since.
The mare moved to Newington Farm after her latest run at Ipswich on January 15 after pulling up without issue. Buyers are welcome to carry out their own vetting.
