This 4yo son of Deep Field is building a nice record now being a 2 x winner from only 5 starts to date in the last 6 months and his most recent win when 3rd up at Kilmore had plenty to merit to it.

Flashbang, being a typical Deep Field, took time to mature and was given the patience he needed before getting his career underway in winning ways. In his first preparation over his late 3yo/early 4yo season in 2024, he knocked his maiden out of the way over 1400m in a determined fashion at Ballarat at only his 2nd start following a positive debut effort where inexperience saw him beaten by only 1.1L.

On return for his Summer 4yo campaign, his first two runs were better than they read on paper while he needed the hit outs to build up his fitness. 3rd up over 1400m at Kilmore last week he had every reason not to win after jumping awkwardly and drifting back to the rear outside 8 Lengths. Given rein from the 600m he showed real tenacity to quicken and then hold his run on straightening to finish strongly for the win by 1.25L.

This progressive young horse is far from the finished product and his owners have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks / months ahead.

Flashbang pulled up well from his win last week and following the end of this auction, his new owner won't have to wait long before he races again.

Flashbang is managed by First Light Racing, with the horse's ongoing management looked after by FLR. New owners will fall under their management - as per the usual terms of the FLR syndicate agreement. The new owner/(s) agrees to be bound by FLR's terms and conditions of ownership as detailed in our Syndicate Agreement & Product Disclosure Statement (available on request).
