Description
Big Big Knight is an unraced 3YO gelding by Pierata out of the 4-time winning Canford Cliffs mare, Clarice Cliffs. His second dam No Vanity won over 1000m and has produced 7 foals to race for 6 winners. His third dam, No Mischief, won a Listed race at 2 and has produced 10 foals to race for 7 winners. As a broodmare sire in Australia, Canford Cliffs is responsible for 17 winners from 24 runners (70% winners to runners) including Group 1 winner Amelia’s Jewel and Listed Magic Millions 3YO Guineas winner, Bosustow.
Pierata was an elite sprinter defeating 39 individual Group 1 winners of 79 Group 1 races highlighted by Trapeze Artist, Bivouac, Brutal, Exceedance, Nature Strip, Santa Ana Lane and Redzel throughout his career. His career defining moment came when he blitzed the field in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes over 1400m at Randwick. Pierata had an exceptional season with his first crop of 2YOs, with five individual Group performers, more than any other first-season sire in 23/24. These are led by Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes winner and Group 1 Golden Slipper runner up Coleman, along with the tenacious filly Tobeornottobe, winner of the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Flemington. Big Big Knight was purchased for $110,000 at the 2023 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. He is unraced and has been given the necessary time to mature. He is a lovely big horse with good bone, a nice shoulder, strong hindquarters and a free-flowing action. He profiles as a sprinter-miler and will enjoy racing over 1400-1600m. He is VOBIS Gold eligible and nominated for the lucrative Inglis race series. He is currently spelling at Miranda Park.
