2012 Bay mare by STARSPANGLED BANNER out of DIZLAGO
DIZZY DIVA is a lovely mare who has had four foals to race for two winners in that of SPINNING (by PIERRO) who was a $210,000 yearling that placed fourth in the Listed MRC Twilight Glow Stakes. As well as INITIAL MOMENT, Dizzy’s lovely SO YOU THINK filly who has also gone on to win this year - securing her maiden victory over 1800m in January. She looks to be a quality staying filly so should develop particularly well this season!
A mare who can throw an attractive type, DIZZY DIVA’s most recent yearling through the sales ring by WILD RULER made $100,000 on the Gold Coast in 2025. Her 2021 PIERATA now named AMAZING PARTNERS sold for $250,000 as a yearling and recently placed third in a trial at Hawkesbury for Stephen O’Halloran.
DIZZY DIVA is being sold with a foal at foot by Widden’s resident stallion SUPIDO who is the fastest son of the great SEBRING. He is the sire of multiple stakes winning and G1 placed BUENOS NOCHES (who ran second in the G1 VRC Spring Classic and third in the G1 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes); as well as exciting stakes winner WHAT YOU NEED who took out the inaugural VRC Sunlight Classic. With a further two stakes place getters and over 60% winners to runners SUPIDO is making his mark in the stallion ranks.
The SUPIDO filly being sold at foot was foaled 20th of October 2024 and has quality about her. She is a lovely moving filly, has a great temperament and is straight forward.
DIZZY DIVA is out of the stakes winning ENCOSTA DE LAGO mare DIZLAGO who won the Listed MRC Ethereal Stakes. DIZLAGO is also a half-sister to the G1 VRC Oaks winner PINOT who has won on three occasions from 1300m to 2500m accumulating over $700,000 in prize money.
DIZZY DIVA’s second dam is the G1 AJC Australian Oaks winner DIZELLE (by the great ZABEEL) who went on to win close to $1 million in prizemoney including victories and top four placings in a phenomenal 10x stakes races in her glittering career.
DIZZY DIVA’s family is steeped in quality with her third dam being DANELAGH who was crowned second top filly on the 2YO classification having won the G1 VATC Blue Diamond Stakes, placing second in the G2 Reisling Slipper Trial Stakes before going on to place second in the G1 One Thousand Guineas.
The pedigree includes many stakes winners including Hong Kong Horse of the Year SUBSCRIBE – VENGENEANCE OF RAIN who won a brilliant three G1 races, as well as BERNICIA, OLD NORTH and ATHELRIC.
This is a very active female family with various mares in foal to the likes of SO YOU THINK, NATIVE TRAIL, KING COLORADO, OLE KIRK, PLAYING GOD, BRAVE SMASH and TIGER OF MALAY just to name a few!
DIZZY DIVA stands at 15.3hh and is a straightforward mare with a gentle nature. DIZZY is currently dry so can be mated well on an early cover this season. With the right blood and a good mating, this pedigree will only continue to flourish!
DIZZY DIVA was negative to North Pacific last season from only one cover late in the season. She has always been a straight forward breeder.
