Description
Lady Guissel is a well bred and well credentialed young mare in foal to one of the most fascinating young stallions we’ve seen at stud for some time. Impeccably bred, she is the half sister to the dam of a Gr.1 winner and desends from a champion international family, full of black type.
This attractive daughter of Myboycharlie (broodmare sire of the stakes winning, million-dollar earner Opal Ridge amongst others) is a half-sister to the dual Gr.3 winning mare Nina Rock, who in turn, is the dam of the extremely talented, $2 million earning Gr.1 George Ryder winner VEIGHT! A tremendous performer, Veight also placed twice at Gr.1 level finishing 2nd in the both the Caulfield Guineas and Australian Guineas.
Bred to the outstanding racehorse RUSSIAN CAMELOT, the resulting foal will be bred on the sharp Camelot x Danehill cross, which has been responsible for six induvial Gr.1 winners, 25 stakes performers and in excess 60% winners to runners.
Russian Camelot needs no introduction, the ONLY northern hemisphere bred winner of an Australasian Derby, he went on to taste further success at Group One level in the Underwood Stakes before an unlucky 3rd in the time-honoured Cox Plate.
Since retiring to stud, he has been strongly supported, covering 469 mares in four seasons. We saw his first yearlings enter the sale circuit in 2024 and they were a hit with trainers and bloodstock agents, those who knew how talented he was. Yearlings selling up to $260,000 and averaged an incredible $140,000 at the Gold Coast in January last year! The 2025 sales season has continued in a similar vein with yearlings selling up to $130,000 at the recent Inglis Melbourne Premier sale.
Russian Camelot's oldest progeny are now 2YOs and he is responsible for several jumpout winners, he has an incredibly exciting future ahead of him.
