Description
Estrado was a fast Sydney sprinting mare, winning twice in town, and being placed a further five times on Sydney tracks. She retired with earnings of just under $200,000.

At stud she has been a good producer, having had three live foals in her first three years at stud. Her 2yo colt by Astern, now named Arapawa, is with leading NSW trainer Brett Cavanough, and her yearling filly by Zousain was recently purchased by the leading South Australian stable of Aaron Bain/Ned Taylor. Her third foal is a nice good sized scopey filly by multiple Group 1 winner State of Rest. She missed last season to King’s Gambit. A clean breeding certificate is provided with this listing.

Estrado is a daughter of the top-class stallion Stratum (by Redoute’s Choice), sire of over 550 winners and $80 million in progeny earnings. His Group 1 winners have included the likes of Crystal Lily (Golden Slipper), Streama (AJC Oaks), Land of Plenty (MRC Toorak Hcp) and many others. As a broodmare sire, Stratum has ranked in the top 50 on the Australian broodmare sires list for the past six seasons (presently 22nd in the 2024/2025 season). His daughters have already produced 13 stakes winners which include Lindermann (Rosehill Guineas), Rocketing By ($2,804,990), Encap ($1,020,200), Entente ($887,965), and Erno’s Cube ($593,400).

Estrado’s dam Infinito is by multiple Champion Sire and Broodmare Sire Encosta de Lago. She has left 6 winners to date including 3 City performers, Estrado, Always Sure ($241,500) and Never in Doubt. Infinito is still at stud, and has a 2021 colt by Shamus Award, a 2022 filly by Fiorente, a 2023 filly by Puissance de Lune, a 2024 colt by Ghaiyyath coming through the ranks, while she was covered in 2024 by Ghaiyyath.
