BY A CHAMPION, OUT OF A CHAMPION
Encryption retired to stud at Eureka, sound and has everything breeders are searching for; pedigree, physicality and a performance to match. Winner of the Group 3 Black Opal Stakes at two, Group 2 Danehill Stakes at three and runner up in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate, Encryption retired an earner of $743,500.
Arguably the most regally bred horse to stand in Queensland, Encryption is by Champion sire LONHRO and is the first foal out of the 4 x Group 1 winner and Champion 3YO Filly GUELPH (Exceed and Excel). The family has also produced the Golden Slipper winners CANNY LAD and SEPOY and the 2020 VRC Gr1 Newmarket winner BIVOUAC
A Group 3 winning 2YO and Flemington Group 2 Danehill Stakes 1200m winner as a 3YO, Encryption also finished second in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate beaten under a length by BOOKER.
Encryption was black type placed as an early pre-Christmas 2YO, with placings in the Listed MRC Debutant Stakes and Group 3 VRC Maribyrnong Plate. As a model of consistency he then finished in the first four at 10 of his 19 starts, all at Stakes and Group level. He also finished 5th with outstanding run on performances in both the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes and Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes.
CHAMPION FIRST SEASON SIRE OF QLD
Encryption's first crop to race in the 22/23 season impressively earned over $1,230,000, securing him the title of Champion First Season Sire of Queensland. He also finished second on the Australian First Season Sires table to JUSTIFY. His best performer was dual Group 2 winner CIFRADO.
Encrypton's oldest progeny are now 4yo's in the 24/25 season and has already produced 2 x Million dollar earners in ENCODER winner of the Magic Millions Subzero Stayers & Group 3 BRC Grand Prix, and CIFRADO winner of Gr2 BRC Sires Produce, Gr2 BRC Spirit of Boom Classic & Gr3 BRC Vo Rogue.
Encryption has covered 642 mares through his first six seasons at stud, with his 2YOs and under the result of some 363 mares covered. These are still all in the pipeline to race for him.
Encryption stood for $11,000 incl GST in 2024 and will stand again with the McAlpine family at Eureka Stud in 2025.
