Description
Lightly raced 4yo racing and breeding prospect by leading sire Shamus Award, with lots of recent activity in her immediate pedigree. Shamiela should be suited to further racing on country tracks.
Shamiela is a sister to the 3yo gelding Brogue Kick, a NZ$425,000 NZB Ready to Run purchase and a recent Cranbourne trial winner (7 April), in training with Clinton McDonald at Cranbourne.
She is also a sister to the 2yo filly Caesour’s Queen, a recent Kilmore trial winner (17 March), in training with David Dean at Kilmore.
Shamiela has had just the one racing preparation, her two best runs being a 4th and a 5th at Murwillumbah in late December 2024, and early February 2025. She was spelled after her last start on the 6th of April. She pulled up OK after this run and is considered to be a sound horse by the stable. Her ownership group are looking to race City class horses, and she is not at this level at this stage of her career.
Shamiela is a half-sister to 3 winners including the stakes placed Caesour’s Dream (by Nicconi). Caesour’s Dream has 2022 and 2023 colts by Shamus Award and was covered in 2024 by dual Group 1 winner Mo’Unga. Another one of Shamiela’s half-sisters, Caesour’s Deel (by Dundeel), has already produced 2 winners, and has a 2022 colt by Shamus Award, a 2023 colt by Xtravagant and a 2024 colt by Shamus Award, and was covered by Mo’Unga in 2024. Shamiela’s dam, Caesour’s Promise, was also covered by Mo’Unga in 2024.
Shamus Award is firmly entrenched as one of the best stallions at stud in Australia, finishing amongst the top echelon of sires for the past five years, including a high of sixth place in the 2021/22 season. His Group 1 winners include Duais ($4,005,715), Incentivise ($5,743,300), Mr Quickie ($2,071,300), Quintessa, El Patroness and Media Award.
Shamiela comes from a particularly good family, with her grand dam being dual Group 1 winner Perfect Promise, she in turn a half-sister to triple Group 1 winner Irridescence.
Shamiela went out sound post her most recent run to spell at Grand Parkview Stud on 7 April. She is quiet to ride and handle but has been seen to windsuck from time to time.
