A 5% share in a lightly raced import trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, being sold unreserved.
Impressive overseas form over staying trips, including:
· 4.75 length win at Ascot (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4howi70HFE from the 9:40 minute mark);
· 2 length win at Sandown Park; and
· 5th placing behind Middle Earth at York (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO5AWuQA-Ck from the 2:10 minute mark).
The stable made the decision to give Alhambra Palace a light first preparation in Australia, hence only three runs. These runs were solid enough, but he’s a genuine stayer who is yet to be fully tested at his ideal distances. He’s been given every chance to succeed, with a light first preparation and over 12 months to acclimatise.
His second racing preparation in Australia has commenced with three jump outs, which have been typical of a stayer as he builds to a first up assignment over 2000m. The stable has indicated that they will not waste any time getting him to staying trips this preparation and at this stage he will kick off at Ballarat on Sunday, 11 May, with the stable looking at options in both Melbourne and Sydney later in the preparation.

Alhambra Palace currently has a benchmark rating of 67. If the stable’s patience pays off and they get him performing anywhere near his overseas ratings there are plenty of fun times ahead.
