Pitch Blue - Pregnancy Certificate
Description
A daughter of Royal Ascot winner Muhaarar, Pitch Blue is a French-born mare from an illustrious family; her multiple Group-placed dam Peinture Abstraite (by Holy Roman Emperor) is a half-sister to the much celebrated G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Peintre Celebre, European Horse of the Year and Champion 3YO in France during his racing career. Bred and owned by businessman Daniel Wildenstein, triple Group 1 winner Peintre Celebre is one of four stakes winners from Group 2 winner Peinture Bleue (by Alydar), who won stakes races in the United States and France.
From blue hen Peinture Bleue descends nine Group winners, including Champion 3YO Colt and five-time Group 1-winning South African racehorse Jet Dark (by Trippi), 10 stakes winners, and a further 14 stakes performers. Peinture Abstraite has continued three winners from three of her offspring to race, two of which have gone on to produce winners themselves.
Pitch Blue’s first foal, the 2-year-old filly Blue Poles (by Cracksman), has been imported into Australia and is in the stable of Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald. Pitch Blue herself was imported in foal to Cracksman, the brilliant four-time Group 1-winning son of Frankel, and delivered a colt in 2024 which is being offered in the Inglis Weanling Sale in May. She sells in foal on an October cover to Arrowfield Stud’s Maurice, who stood in 2024 for $55,000 (inc GST). His oldest crop of Southern Hemisphere-bred foals will turn seven in August; from just five crops to race, he has amassed 30 stakes winners, including six at Group 1 level, with a strike rate of 64.5 per cent winners to runners.
A young son of Oasis Dream, Muhaarar has six winners as a broodmare sire but hopes to echo the success of his sire; Oasis Dream’s daughters strike at 5 per cent stakes winners to runners. Pitch Blue presents an exciting opportunity to catch a young mare on an upwards trajectory, with an active pedigree and well-bred offspring already on the ground to run for her.
