Somebody to Love (IRE) is a 2014 mare by Power out of the beautifully bred Starchy, from an influential European family.
Somebody to Love was a winner on debut as a juvenile and is the dam of two named foals to date. Lots To Love (by Camelot), was a $200,000 Magic Millions yearling and is currently in training with Annabel Neasham, where he has become a multiple placegetter. Find Me (also by Camelot), is in the care of Tony Gollan and ran a strong third at Doomben at only his second start in April 2025. Her 2023 yearling, by Night of Thunder, was secured by Malua Racing for $220,000 at this year’s Magic Millions sale.
This mare’s pedigree is littered with black type. Her dam, Starchy, is a daughter of the Group-winning Sahara Star and a sister to the Group winner and outstanding producer Land of Dreams, dam of European Champion Sprinter and Sire Dream Ahead. The family also includes producers of high-class performers such as Noor Sahara, Princess Noor, and Zihba – the latter a Group 3 winner and multiple Group placegetter, out of Somebody to Love’s half-sister, Fancy Vivid.
Somebody to Love is currently in foal to the exciting young sire Generation (Snitzel), an undefeated 2YO, dual Group 3 winner, and Group 1-performed sprinter. She was covered on 23 October 2024.
