Description
This young maiden mare is a daughter of highly successful shuttle sire and former Japan Horse of the Year Maurice, sire of 30 stakeswinners to date, 6 of them Gr1 winners, including Hitotsu (Australian Derby, Australian Guineas, VRC Derby), Mazu (BRC Doomben Ten Thousand) and Geraldina (Hanshin Queen Elizabeth II Cup). Maurice now has two juvenile winners from his first 3 runners as a broodmare sire.
Vercelli was placed over 1200m in her four career starts and is out of a full sister to Snitzel Gr1 winner Snitzerland (VRC Lightning Stakes), who is now the dam of Gr3 2yo winner Hard Landing and SP pair Saas Fee and Chisholm, while Vercelli is also a full sister to Group winner and successful sire Sooboog. This is the family descended from modern taproot mare Misty Vain which features Gr1 winners Aloha, Malaguerra, Cool Aza Beel & Seabrook in addition to Magic Millions Classic winner Mirror Mirror.
