Description
Lively – 4YO Mare by Pierro
Lively is a beautifully bred, dual-winning 4-year-old mare by Champion Sire Pierro, out of the stakes-winning Japhils.
This classy mare boasts black type form, having produced a strong 4th-place finish in the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes at Moonee Valley against a high-quality field that included Isthmus, Celestial Storm, Lazzago, and Platinum Jubilee.
A standout as a yearling, Lively was purchased for $400,000 from the Magic Millions Yearling Sale, reflecting her quality and appeal from an early age.
Her dam, Japhils, is a proven producer, also responsible for Perceptive, a winner and Listed placegetter.
As a broodmare sire, Pierro continues to make his mark, with successful progeny including Jacquinot, Facile, Karman Line, I Am Unstoppable, Femminile Chilled, and Spirit of Zero—further enhancing Lively’s future value in the breeding shed.
In October 2024, Lively was diagnosed with epiglottic entrapment and subsequently underwent surgery. On veterinary advice, she has been retired from racing, which has unfortunately cut her career short. All associated veterinary reports are available for review.
