Description

Cayman Island (2 g Hello Youmzain – Nucleonic, by Burgundy) is being sold as a racing proposition. Very well related, Cayman Island has shown in his action, during two jump outs and a trial, to be a horse with potential as he matures and gets over more distance. Cayman Island is a half-brother to reigning South Island Champion Two-Year-Old Nucleozor (Almanzor), who was unbeaten in three starts, including the Welcome Stakes (Listed, 1000m), before being sold to Hong Kong Also, a half-brother Qali Al Farrasha (Almanzor), who finished second in the Sunline Vase (Gr. 3, 2100m) and third in the New Zealand Oaks (Gr. 1, 2400m), as a three-year-old last season, and continued terrific form this season when placing in the Thorndon Mile (Gr. 1, 1600m), Otaki-Maori WFA Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m), and Bonecrusher Stakes (Gr. 1, 2000m). Their dam, Nucleonic (Burgundy), impressed winning on debut over 1200 as a two-year-old, while grand-dam Mexican Rose (Volksraad) was Champion 2YO & 3YO in Singapore, having first impressed winning two of her three starts in New Zealand. Dam sire Burgundy (Redoute’s Choice), a three-quarter brother to five-time Group One winner and Champion Sire Darci Brahma (Danehill), are each out of Zabeel (Sir Tristram) mare Grand Echezeaux, winner of the Australasian Oaks (Group 1, 2000m). Burgundy, a five-time stakes winner, was Leading First Season Sire in New Zealand, and proved very versatile when producing two-year-old winners and a New Zealand Cup (3200m) winner, before tragically having his stallion career cut short. Cayman Island carries a cross of breed shaping sire Danehill (Danzig) through his sire lines.
