CHURCHILL X WHAT A DIVA ’23 COLT
Blue Gum Farm presents an exciting opportunity to secure a well-grown yearling colt by internationally proven sire CHURCHILL, from a family of high-class performers.
This colt is fifth foal out of WHAT A DIVA, a winning daughter of PENTIRE, whose 2YO colt by BRUTAL is currently in training with Michael Hickmott. Reports from the stable are highly encouraging, with the youngster showing good ability and set to debut in a late two-year-old winter campaign.
His sire, CHURCHILL, is a dual Guineas-winning son of GALILEO and continues to build an impressive global record at stud. Already the sire of multiple Group 1 winners, including:
- ATTRITION – G1 Toorak Hcp winner
- VADENI – G1 Prix du Jockey Club & G1 Eclipse Stakes winner

Although retired early from racing, WHAT A DIVA made an impression in her short career — winning twice and placing twice from just four starts. She is a half-sister to New Zealand Champion colt and Group 1 winner FULLY FLEDGED, as well as FLEDGLING, a stakes performer who produced multiple stakes winner BASSETT — a family that continues to fire in both Australia and New Zealand.
WHAT A DIVA’s sire PENTIRE has become a sought-after broodmare sire, with his daughters producing G1 winners such as SHOOT OUT, PENNYWEKA and SAINT EMILION. PENTIRE mares are known for producing tough, high-quality gallopers who can compete at the highest level across multiple distances.
This colt combines the toughness and stamina of PENTIRE through the dam with the brilliance and versatility of CHURCHILL, whose stock continue to flourish across hemispheres.
