Description
This speedy, young mare proved a smart type on the racetrack scoring 3 city wins – all over 1000m – including one on debut as a 2yo. Costume Party was runner-up to Gr1 winner Amelia’s Jewel in the WATC Gimcrack Stakes (Gr3) by less than 2.5L and also 3rd to Amelia’s Jewel previously in the Supremacy Stakes (LR) at Bunbury – both stakesplacings as a 2yo.
Costume Party is a daughter of A Lot, a stakeswinning son of Champion USA Sire Tapit, and now the sire of Western Australian Derby (Gr2) winner A Lot of Good Men. This mare is a half-sister to 2 other winners and hails from the immediate family of Gr1 winners Rouslan (QTC Stradbroke H.), Unpainted (AJC Doncaster H.), Plush (VATC Toorak H.) and Quick Star (AJC Champagne S.) in addition to current Gr1 performer Too Darn Lizzie (3rd Thousand Guineas).
Costume Party sells in foal to Hitotsu (by Maurice), a winner of 3 Gr1 races. The first of the Hitotsu weanlings were offered at the Inglis Weanling Sale achieving a top price of $140,000 and an average of 3 times his service fee.
