ALABAMA EXPRESS - 1 x STALLION SHARE
ALABAMA EXPRESS IS ONE OF AUSTRALASIA’S MOST EXCITING YOUNG STALLIONS – From his two crops of racing age he has had 12 Stakes horses from his first 83 runners. These include 3-time G1 winning 3YO filly Treasurethe Moment (ATC Oaks, VRC Oaks, Vinery Stud Stakes) who is currently rated one of the best 3YOs in Australia, 4-time Stakes winner and twice G1 placed Alabama Lass, plus Stakes winners Glasgow Lass and Discretion Rules. Additional to those are the Group performed 2YOs Karavas, Alabama Magic, Poster Girl and Shangri La Express plus promising gallopers Kalkallo (Stakes placed), No Fooling (unbeaten in 2 starts), Alabama State etc. His only runner in Hong Kong is the talented Karate Express who was a winner on debut.
A SON OF CHAMPION REDOUTE’S CHOICE – Comparing Alabama Express to other sons of Redoute’s Choice at the same stage of their careers, he is outperforming them. At this stage of his career, Snitzel, Redoute’s Choice’s best son at stud, had sired 12 Stakes horses for 4 Stakes winners from 119 runners. Alabama Express has achieved the same numbers but with 36 less runners and has produced a G1 winner, which Snitzel had not. Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) had yet to sire a Stakes winner from 95 runners at this point of his career. The Autumn Sun (Redoute’s Choice), who retired to stud at a fee of $77,000 (compared to the $27,500 of Alabama Express), had sired 4 Stakes winners and 9 Stakes horses from 91 runners at the equivalent stage.
HE PRODUCES VERSATILE STOCK – Alabama Express covered his first mares at a fee of $27,500 then $24,750 followed by two years at $22,000. From those first two crops he has had great success with his progeny, producing a Champion 3YO in waiting in triple G1 winner Treasurethe Moment, one of the best sprinters in New Zealand, Alabama Lass, Stakes winning and Group placed 2YOs, Group winning 3YOs. His progeny have won Stakes races ranging from 1200m to 2500m.
OUTPERFORMING AT YEARLING SALES – according to Australian Stud Book Alabama Express covered 78 mares at a fee of $22,000 in 2022. Those subsequent foals at the major Yearling Sales in 2025 (Easter, Premier, Classic, Karaka, MM Gold Coast) have averaged almost seven times their service fee ($139,250) and have realised $380,000, $340,000, $300,000 etc.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME – In 2023 Alabama Express covered 222 mares at $22,000. His progeny include foals from the likes of Bohemian Lily, Centrefire, Consensus, Forbidden Love, Going Global, Icebath, Inspirational Girl, Isotope, Majestic Shot, Montefilia, Missisippi Burning, Releem In Ruby, Sheeza Belter, Yamazaki etc. and siblings to Karavas, Miss Roumbini, Irukandji, Princess Jenni, Ellsberg, Yellow Brick, Elliptical, Bella Martini, Dubious, Sunshine In Paris etc.
In 2024 he covered 223 mares at a career high of $55,000, including the likes of Bohemian Lily, Broadwayandfourth, Catch Me, Daisies, Forbidden Love, Francaletta, Literary Magnate, Magical Lagoon, Majestic Shot, Mariamia, Mirra View, More Joyous, Naantaili, Only Words, Princess Duhallow, Promise Of Success, Seradess, Sigh, Swift Fitness, Toffee Tongue, Tycoon Humma, Unforgotten, Vespertine etc. and the dams of Karavas, Tofane, Surf Dancer, Irukandji, Crystal Bound, Fenway, Extreme Choice, Princess Jenni, Miraval Rose, Hungry Heart, Humma Humma, Ellsberg, Military Tycoon, Glenfiddich, Red Card, Glasgow Lass, Regardsmaree, Shangri La Express, Socks Nation, Kalkallo, Kerguelen, Sunshine In Paris etc. This upcoming season he will stand at $66,000.
