Blue Gum Farm is proud to present this strong, early-born colt by exciting young sire SEJARDAN out of the well-related SHAMUS AWARD mare, NEED NEW FRIENDS.
Foaled on the 31st of August, this colt holds a significant age advantage for buyers targeting the 2026 yearling sales or those looking for a precocious, up-and-running early two-year-old. With scope, strength, and presence, he is exactly the type of athletic colt commercial buyers and trainers look for.
His sire, SEJARDAN, was a brilliant juvenile – winning the G2 Todman Stakes, the $1 million Golden Gift and the G3 Breeders’ Plate – and has proven incredibly popular in his first two seasons at stud. His progeny made an immediate impact at the 2025 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, where six weanlings sold at auction for an average of $54,000, topped by a standout $80,000 filly out of Cinzia, offered by Widden Stud and purchased by Riverstone Lodge.
His dam, NEED NEW FRIENDS, is a G3-placed daughter of SHAMUS AWARD, and a high-class racemare in her own right, earning over $200,000 on the track. Just eight years old, she is off to a promising start at stud:
- Her first foal, a colt by Capitalist, was purchased by Gavin Bedggood at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $50,000.
- She is currently in foal to ZOUSAIN, adding even more momentum to her broodmare career.
Importantly, NEED NEW FRIENDS is a sister to G3 winner ANGEL OF MERCY, who is the dam of G1 winner AUTUMN ANGEL and G2 winner BARAQIEL.
This August-born colt is correct, well-bodied, and developing the sort of physical that should appeal to both pinhookers and end-users aiming for early 2YO and Magic Millions-type success.
