La Casona is a well-bred daughter of 4-time Champion sire Snitzel. A $400,000 Inglis Easter yearling purchase for Ciaron Maher Bloodstock, La Casona has raced 11 times for 2 wins (both at metro level) and 2 seconds and has competed at G3 level.
She is out of the stakes-placed Medaglia D’Oro mare Chachapoyas, a stakes-performed 2YO who is a half-sister to G3 winner and G1 runner up Aramayo. Chachapoyas was coveed by Too Darn Hot in 2023, while she has fillies in training by the likes of Exceed And Excel, Zoustar, plus a full sister to La Casona in Centro Storico who placed 4th in a Listed contest and was covered by Tassort this season after foaling a colt by Maurice.
Snitzel is enjoying some outstanding success as a broodmare sire, including G1 NZ 1000 Guineas winner Captured By Love, G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Private Life, G1 Memsie Stakes winner Pinstriped, and last seasons G1 winners Celestial Legend and Velocious.
