Sergeant Major
Sergeant Major is a lightly-raced NZ-bred three-year-old gelding by Proisir out of the mare Forty Love. He has had 9 starts for 2 wins and 3 placings, amassing over $214,000 in prize money to date.
His most notable victory came in his last start on April 12, 2025, when he impressively won the Listed South Pacific Classic (1400m) at Randwick under jockey Ethan Brown. Sergeant Major has also placed in several stakes races, including third in both the Group 3 Zeditave Stakes at Caulfield and the Listed McKenzie Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Sergeant Major has just resumed work at Bong Bong Farm after a four-week spell. With a rating of 80, we plan to make the most of it and take him through some benchmark races before possibly looking at black-type races at the back end of the Spring carnival.
