3yo Brown Gelding by BLUE POINT out of TAWTEEN
• BLUE STRATUM was a seriously precocious racehorse, running second first time out in the G3 Maribyrnong Plate. He went on to just miss out on placing in the $500k Inglis Nursery at Royal Randwick and the G3 Vain Stakes at Caulfield. He won twice on the track, with one victory coming at metropolitan level.
• His sire BLUE POINT was an immensely talented sprinter, winning the G1 Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot twice, the G1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes and the G1 Al Quoz Sprint. He continues to be a top young stallion in Australia and is currently third in the Second Season Sires table. He operates at an impressive 10% stakes horses to runners in Australia.
• BLUE POINT’s recent top performers include $2.15 million earner BOSUSTOW who won the G3 Gold Coast Guineas and G3 BJ McLachlan Stakes winner ICARIAN DREAM.
• BLUE STRATUM’s dam TAWTEEN (Stratum) was a sharp, talented seven-time winning mare. She consistently performed at blacktype level, winning the L MVRC William Crockett Stakes and putting together a string of placings in the G3 MRC Thoroughbred Club Stakes, the G3 VRC Gucci Stakes and the G3 MVRC Champagne Stakes. Her breeding record has been just as consistent, with all of her raced progeny being winners.
• BLUE STRATUM’s pedigree is littered with impressive stakes winners, including his granddam SPRUNG (Grand Slam) who was a G3 winner and G2 placed in America, as well as listed winner WELL SPRUNG (Star Witness) and G3 second CONNEMARA (Fastnet Rock).
• BLUE STRATUM’s owners have decided to move him on as they prefer to be racing stakes class horses. BLUE STRATUM is still quite unexposed, having raced twelve times. He has the ability to continue to earn some prize money for his new owners. A change of environment and a lesser racing jurisdiction could bring out the best in this horse.
