Description
Tiara Star stands 16.1hh and is easy to handle. Tiara showed excellent ability as a 2yo winning her maiden and placing at Metropolitan Level before running 5th in the G3 BJ Mclachlan and being sent for a spell. She then returned in her 3yo season and ran 4th in the Gosford Guineas. She was subsequently transferred to Adelaide and won a further 4 metropolitan races before retiring sound after 33 starts.
Tiara Star’s only yearling sold made 360k and was the highest priced colt sold at Magic Millions Adelaide that year. She has three half sister’s breeding on and two more currently racing to add further weight to the pedigree. Her half sister Boardmember by Capitalist has won her last three starts for Matthew Hoysted.
Her first foal a filly by Pride of Dubai has been retained to race by her breeders and is currently in the care of Grahame Begg Racing. She has yet to have her first start.
Her second foal, Regor by Extreme Choice, is in work with Lindsay Park and has displayed promise as a 2yo. Initially targeted at the Blue Diamond he pulled up shin sore after his first start and was spelled before returning for an Autumn campaign. He again showed above average ability and reports from the stable were excellent but he has returned to the spelling paddock after showing mild soreness after his second trial. He will be aimed at a spring campaign on his return and with the Hayes stable thinking highly enough of him he is still an entire.
Her third foal an In the Congo colt will be presented at Premier in 2026.
Congrats as a broodmare sire has produced seven individual Group 1 winners and 28 stakes winners including G1 winner Private Harry. He is currently running at 65% winners to runners as a broodmare sire. Tiara is completely free of Danehill providing an outcross for a number of Australian stallions at stud.
Ole Kirk looks set to be Champion First Season sire. Mares in foal to Ole Kirk sold for up to $350k at the Chairmans sale and $340k at the recent Magic Millions sale. His weanlings sold up to $210k at Inglis Sydney, $275k at the Magic Millions weanling sale and a sale topping $475k at the recent Inglis Great Southern sale.
