The multiple Gr.1 winner St Mark’s Basilica is one of the best shuttlers to grace Australian shores in recent years and it is little wonder that his progeny are proving such a hit with buyers - selling for up to $650,000 at Easter and $700,000 at the Magic Millions.
Here is a great opportunity to secure a lovely young mare in foal to him on a September service date - Faraah a seven-year-old daughter of the Gr.1 Irish 2000 Guineas hero Awtaad from a classy international family.
Purchased at Tattersalls as a yearling for 200,000 guineas, Faraah won over a sprinting trip in Ireland. She is one of the ten winners (from 11 to race) for the Second Empire mare Hi Katriona whose son Hard Yards is a Gr.3 placed five time winner in Hong Kong.
Hi Katriona is out of another highly successful broodmare, the stakes placed Hi Bettina whose 11 winners (from 12 to race) include the stakes winners Fred Bongusto and Atlantic Viking. Her dam Pitmarie was a dual Listed winner who produced two stakes winners - so there is black-type aplenty on this page!
