Description

Quirimbas is a lovely strong, athletic type of filly with a great page and plenty of ability. From just 14 career starts to date Quirimbas has claimed victory over 1400m and has placed on a further three occasions, notching up $26,000 in the process. Suited over the shorter trip Quirimbas' best performances have been from 1000m to 1400m which is no surprise when you take into account her breeding.

Her sire Street Boss was a sprinter at the top level himself and produces progeny in the same mold. From 524 runners he has produced 358 winners at a strike rate of 68%. Of which 30 individuals are stakes winners including the Group 1 Newmarket winner The Quarterback.

Quirimbas is out of the stakes performed Flying Spur mare Spurlani, a profound producer having had 9 foals, 8 to race and all of which are winners. Spurlani is the dam of notebale racetrack performers Heraklion, two time winner who also placed third in the Group 3 STC Gloaming Stakes. Goldam, three time winning filly from 1000 to 1100m, stakes placed as a 2YO and prizemoney earned in excess of $200,000. And Willingani who is a stakes placed, multiple winning filly by More Than Ready.

Quirimbas is a genuine racing prospect with a heap of ability, plenty of racing upside who prefers the sting out of the track. She is well put together, stands at approximately 15.3hh, has good conformation and loads of appeal as an ongoing racing proposition or for future breeding purposes.
