Description
Devil In Her Heart is an unraced mare by Star Witness. After being purchased as a yearling, she kicked out in the truck as they were loading her from the sales on the same day, and the result was a fractured pedal bone. Despite being given time and put into training, she always felt it, and so with the emergence of the hugely talented ‘Songlike’ in her pedigree, it was decided to retire her early and send her to stud. Her dam Mabkhara has had two to race for two winners, they being Fleeteor who won 4, and the highly rated Songlike (by Your Song) who on the back of impressive trial form started first up as a $6 chance in the G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes where she went shinsore. On returning, she won two trials before running into a couple of good ones in Marble and Alizee, before winning at her fourth and final start beating the eventual G2 Winner Showtime by leading all the way as an odds on favourite. Songlike undoubtedly had the world at her feet but unfortunately died in a paddock accident denying her the career that lay in front of her.
