Description
Iriomote is a Sydney and Melbourne Metropolitan winner by Champion stallion Exceed And Excel out of G2 VRC Matriarch Stakes winner Brom Felinity, a full-sister to G1 Australian Guineas winner Delago Brom. Iriomote is a half-sister to the Godolphin-owned and Charlie Appleby-trained Walton Street, a last start runner-up at G3 level at Deauville.
3-in-1 package
Iriomote is in foal to Brazen Beau whose yearlings sold for up to $1.15 million in 2019 and averaged $219k at this month’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast.
She has a 2yo daughter by Brazen Beau who sold for $230k at last year’s Magic Millions and is now in training with Toby & Trent Edmonds.
The Brazen Beau/Exceed And Excel cross has already produced G2 Silver Slipper runner-up Tassort.
Iriomote has a strapping Street Boss colt at foot. Street Boss yearlings sold up to $425k in 2019.
The Street Boss/Exceed And Excel cross is going at an amazing 33% Stakes winners/runners with G3 winners Petits Filous and Tris bred on the cross, as well as Merson Cooper Stakes winner and current G1 Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Hanseatic.
Great city winning quality Exceed and Excel mare, she stands just over 16 HH and clearly type is thrown into her progeny and thankfully they are commercial and really wanted in the sales ring.
She carries $77,000 of paid service fees to (Brazen Beau $49,500 and Street Boss $27,500) Brazen Beau only has 78 pregnancies in 2019 – so very few will be on the market during the broodmare sales.
This mare is for genuine sale and will no doubt find a nice home. The video illustrates the quality of the foal, he has great movement, an amazing hip, a quality head and is correct with good bone.
The mare and foal both sell with Vet Insurance Certificates which gives the new purchaser confidence and can easily be insured post purchasing.
The current yearling filly is lovely and by Unencumbered (photo attached), she has been retained and is currently being broken in, she will head to either Anthony Freedman or Danny O’Brien in 2020.
On farm inspections highly encouraged, the colt foal is real quality and will be a lovely yearling in 2021.
Notes:- She was purchased from Darley Stud four years ago and she came with a crush warning. We sedate her in the crush and leave the front door open and has been no trouble whilst at Three Bridges. She is a very good breeder and has gone in foal for 6 consecutive breeding seasons, including Street Boss and Brazen Beau over the last two seasons who both can be difficult at times with their fertility.
