Description
Goodfella is a stakes winning 5yo entire by Snitzel from the Red Ransom mare Movie and is being offered as a stallion prospect.
A Sydney city winner at 2, Goodfella was placed in the Group 3 Bruce McLachlan stakes before running on from the back of the field to finish an unlucky 4th in the Magic Millions 2yo Classic. In his 3yo season, Goodfella won the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes over 1200m at Randwick and raced exclusively in stakes company for the remainder of the Spring and Queensland Summer Carnival, culminating with placings behind subsequent Group 1 winner Pierata when 3rd in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate and 2nd in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas.
In his 4yo and 5yo season, Goodfella registered a number of stakes placings in the Group 3 Festival Stakes and Listed Winter Challenge as well as a narrow second place finish in the $1m Magic Millions Trophy. Goodfella has been retired due to a suspensory ligament sprain but he proved to be one of the toughest and most consistent performers in Australian racing over several seasons and retired with prizemoney earnings exceeding $1.1m from 33 career starts.
Goodfella is an impressive physical type, standing at approximately 16.1HH. He is a well-balanced colt with good bone and strength and is very straightforward to handle with a lovely temperament. He has a strong commercial pedigree, being by a champion stallion from one of the most popular families in the studbook and he will appeal to breeders intending to both sell and race.
