Description
Speed abounds in the pedigree of this proven broodmare whose three winners from four to race include the metropolitan winning, stakes competitive Beautiful Soul and the four times stakes placed city winner More Radiant.
A Bendigo winner over 900m at debut and close up in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes, Ravishing Choice is being sold with a October 21 service to the exciting young stallion Shalaa by whom she produced an eye-catching colt last spring.
A dual Gr.1 winning son of Invincible Spirit, Shalaa has been extremely well received at the major yearling sales with an average of over $169,000, his progeny selling for up to $600,000.
The foal being carried by Ravishing Choice is bred on the same Invincible Spirit/Redoute's Choice cross as the Group winning sprinters Houtzen and Overshare. Her weanling colt is also by Shalaa and he is such a great type we felt compelled to send Ravishing Choice back to him (see photo
Three times crowned Australia's Champion Sire with 173 stakes winners (including 38 Gr.1 winners) Redoute's Choice has further excelled as a broodmare sire with 104 stakes winners including 18 Gr.1 winners.
A daughter of the very fast stakes winner Shalt Not who also produced the Gr.2 Silver Slipper Stakes winner Amelia's Dream, Ravishing Choice hails from a prolific black-type family, that of the Gr.1 winners Grand Zulu, Dark Mirage, Timely Writer, Bluebird, Dolphin Street and Timely Assertion.
