Sound = Yes / Ability = Not enough for us to keep persevering.

Barrier trailed Wednesday, 17 June at Muswellbrook on a Heavy 9. This was his second trial for the preparation. He’s now ready to race – You can buy him and nominate him straight away. Being BOBS eligible and with 6 weeks to go in the season, give him a couple of starts while you remain eligible to pick up the BOBS bonus as well.

He’s sound of wind and limb, fit, fully educated and ready to race but we now realise he can’t win where we have him being trained. So, it was put to our owners for a vote to move him to a weaker racing district or sell him. The majority vote was to sell him.

He just hasn’t shown us enough and as 3yo we have been very patient and given him time, but he’s not repaid the faith we have shown him, so the time has come to say good-bye.

He’s been trained at Randwick and that was too strong for him and then we sent him to Scone and that appears to tough. Around where he is being trained, he may measure up to Sky 2 Meetings or non-TAB meetings but our owners want city class or at least Highway class racehorses where possible. The return on training costs for owners to race him in the bush no longer made commercial sense so the time has come.
