Description
X-Rays, taken on 21 January have been lodged in the Inglis X-Ray Repository. Deemed low risk by our vet but there for your vet to assess. The filly has also been scoped and given the all clear.
Athletic Akeed Mofeed filly from winning Fastnet Rock mare.
By Dual Group 1 star sire Akeed Mofeed, this strong and forward filly is out of the well related winning Fastnet Rock mare Caminetto.
Offered for genuine sale by her breeders, this correct and athletic bay filly currently stands at 15.1 hh, has a good girth, great bone, strong hind quarters and balanced confirmation.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this filly but as a small breeder, we simply don't carry sufficient clout (nor is the filly by a 1st season stallion) to get into Book 1 of the sales and we're not keen on the late season secondary sales. That shouldn't preclude giving the filly every chance to go to a savvy buyer in a timely manner and be given every opportunity to develop as a young racehorse.
Her dam Caminetto was a $250k+ MM Gold Coast yearling purchase by Mark Kavanagh and placed at her two-year-old debut going on to win over a mile. Littered with Black Type, this filly's pedigree hails dual Group winner Memories, one of four stakes winners produced by the prolific broodmare Ardmelody - with Memories' daughter Social Scene producing high class galloper Zipping; winner of 16 races (including two at Gr.1 level and an historic four editions of the Sandown Classic now re-named in his honour) and over $4.5 million in stakes.
This family has been producing topliners for generations, its other members including the Gr.1 winners Ardross, Electrocutionist, Royal Highness, Robertico and Arctique Royale, triple Gr.1 winning stayer Scorpion and the Listed winners Danish Rhapsody and Garudaa.
Bred in the purple, Akeed Mofeed is a sire getting the job done with around 60% winners to runners and having sired the filly when standing at stud in South Australia, she is SABOIS nominated and VOBIS eligible.
This is a genuinely regretful sale as we simply are not resourced to breed and race entirely on our own, but would happily take a share if her new owners decide to syndicate her - we're that confident she's got the goods to make a genuine racehorse.
