Description
Skillz That Thrillz is a 9yo winning mare by Sebring out of the Galileo mare, Humminbird. This makes her a half sister to 4 winners including MILWAUKEE (stakes winner and 3 times stakes placed winner of over $600k) and LAND'S END - OUR HERO (city winner and stakes performed in Australia and a multiple winner in Hong Kong). Her dam, Humminbird, is from the Silver Shadow Gr2 winner CASHIER, making her a half sister to Gr2 winner and Gr1 placed FLYING PEGASUS.
Of the 3 foals that Skillz That Killz has had, her first foal, the 3yo Deep Field filly Deep Thrillz, raced 9 days ago running a very creditable 4th at her race debut. Her 2yo filly Mersey, by Headwater, was a $75,000 yearling purchase by Laurel Oak from the 2020 Classic Sale (the 5th highest price for a Headwater filly sold anywhere that year) and is in the care of Toby and Trent Edmonds. The weanling colt is a strong, correct and scopey colt that is being retained to sell as a yearling next year.
Skillz That Killz is a well grown mare with plenty of size and substance. She is pretty correct in front (photo uploaded), is easy to handle and is well mannered in the float, crush etc. She has been seen to windsuck on the very odd occasion and is currently shod but this is not essential. She carries a positive test to last seasons co-champion first crop stallion and current leading 2nd crop stallion Headwater with her last service date being the 16/10/2020.
