Description

It is not often you get the opportunity to purchase a lightly raced maiden with his foot on the till but in the case of Don’t Whisper that is exactly what is available.

Before racing Don’t Whisper was placed second in two trials finishing very close to the winners. However when his career commenced he was simply too immature to be competitive and finished well back on each occasion in his three starts in his first preparation.

A spell and we saw a changed horse he commenced his second preparation with a good fourth over 1000m in what was arguably the strongest Maiden of the Grafton July Carnival with the winner Flora now winning three of her next four and the second horse Brave Warrior subsequently winning twice at Metro level in Queensland.

At his next run he was a close second at Lismore 1100m with that winner from that race subsequently winning at Class 1 grade. His next two starts were again solid finishing just behind the placed horses. With four starts in six weeks he was then given a short freshen.

At his most recent start at Ballina last Monday over 1000m he was again very consistent with another strong fourth after doing plenty of work to race outside the leader from a bad gate in a quickly run race 58.30 home in 34.35. This time was more than comparable with the much stronger benchmark race over the same distance on that day.

Don’t Whisper is prepared by a boutique stable which simply has too many other horses waiting to return to work and for that reason he is now offered for unreserved sale.

He has never had any issues and will pass any vet tests they are indeed welcomed.

He has pulled up well and can race again next week and with another spell he should still continue to improve.
