Description
This Alabama Express Colt is out of the 3x winning Starcraft mare, Crafty Miss.
He is the fourth foal from the mare, she has had one foal to race named Embossing who is in work
with Champion Trainer Chris Waller. Embossing is a 3YO gelding by Preferment that was a $120,000
yearling purchase by Chris Waller and Guy Mulcaster. He has had five starts to date placing on two
occasions, recently finishing a very impressive third on the 10 th of April.
Her other relations include a 2YO Street Boss Colt and a Grunt Yearling. Crafty Miss is currently in
foal to our 2YO G1 winning son of Lope De Vega, Lucky Vega. This colt was specifically bred on the
highly successful Redoute’s Choice x Starcraft cross that has produced 8 SW, 4 GW and multiple G1
winners such as INSTANT CELEBRITY and STRONGER.
By Redoute’s Choice, Alabama Express has inherited quality looks from his sire and follows a rich
history of sireline descendants which include Not A Single Doubt, Extreme Choice, Snitzel, Shamus
Award and Stratum. Like exceptional sire Beneteau, he also hails from an Encosta de Lago mare.
Alabama Express was an unbeaten 2-year-old and a G1 winner as a 3-year-old claiming the G1 C.F.
ORR Stakes, beating a field of 8 individual G1 winners such as Fierce Impact, Kings will Dream, Fifty
Stars, Avilius, Scales of Justice, Hey Doc etc. Additionally, Alabama Express is the only 3YO by
Redoute’s Choice to win a Group One WFA in Australia. This is his first crop of weanlings.
