SEARCHLIGHT is a lightly raced son of ADELAIDE and hails from the family of CHAMPION Galloper DESERT WAR.
His Dam is half to DAPH 'N' ALF, a talented 15 x Winner and Listed Placed Sprinter/Miler.
Searchlight has only had 8 starts to date in VIC and NSW, and stood up to the 8 runs in his first racing preparation.
He only finished 3 lengths behind Baronessa, an up and coming Galloper that has won and placed 6 times in her 10 starts.
He had two good runs in NSW on a good3 after he was purchased from David Brideoake. His 3rd and final start to round out his first prep was on a heavy10 where he didn't appreciate the going.
Searchlight has had 3 top 5 finishes in his first prep, and has taken great benefit from his spell, growing and maturing nicely. He came back in looking like a different horse.
He came back into work on the 1st March and is not far off having his first race start back. His Trainer had planned to nominate him in 2 weeks.
Searchlight does require a strong, confident rider. He is good to do everything with the majority of the time but can sometimes get a bit full of himself in track work. He is not a kids horse to ride. The Trainer thinks he would be a better horse trained away from a busy track.
