Impressive young sire son of SNITZEL.
THRONUM is a good looking, talented son of the almighty SNITZEL. He hails from the same family as the legendary sires STREET CRY & SHAMARDAL and is a half- brother to the talented Stakes winning 2yo Cythera and a full brother to the Group placed Rule Of Law. His is a huge pedigree littered with top class black type performers.
A five-time winner on the racetrack, Thronum was an impressive victor of his first two starts as a 2yo and went on to be a dominant winner of the Australia Stakes (Gr.2) over 1200m) at Moonee Valley as a 3yo. Thronum then finished less than half a length behind Hartnell in the CF Orr Stakes (Gr.1) over 1400m and was narrowly beaten in the William Reid Stakes (Gr.1) over 1200m) by HELLBENT, defeating Group One winners; Catchy, She Will Reign & Secret Agenda in the process.
Snitzel is now proving himself to be a sire of sires, just like his father, Redoute’s Choice, and has sons like Shamus Award and Sooboog who are both excelling at stud, as well as Russian Revolution and Trapeze Artist, who from just a handful of runners have already produced some impressive Stakes-performers.
From just 20 starters, THRONUM has sired six individual winners who have amassed close to $550,000 in earnings, including the Stakes placed and multiple 2yo winner THRON BONE, who was a recent big money purchase and will continue his racing career in Hong Kong.
Thronum is certainly a well-bred young sire with an impressive race record and a terrific future ahead of him.
