Royal Tribute is a 4YO horse by Snitzel out of the Group 3 winning Elusive Quality mare, Jennifer Lynnette. This colt hails from the same family as Group 1 winner, Strategic Maneuver, Group 2 winner Cat Fighter and Group 3 winner Shumoos.
Royal Tribute is lightly raced with just 6 starts to his name for 2 wins and 1 placing. He broke his maiden at the second time of asking over 1100m and he won the Listed Gosford Guineas over 1200m.
He had throat surgery on 6th November 2024 and on 12th November 2024, Royal Tribute underwent a second surgery to fix the left side of the larynx in an open position (laryngoplasty - ‘tie back’) and repeat axial division to release further entrapping membrane. The surgery was uneventful and he recovered from general anaesthesia without complication. The left laryngeal vocal fold and left ventricle was laser excised, to further improve the airway size. Endoscopic examination following surgery revealed a good surgical result (Dixon grade 2-3) and the epiglottis remaining un-entrapped.
Please see vet reports attached. He is currently spelling at Oak Ridge Farm and will be on paddock rest until 6th January before being assessed by the vets to get the all clear to commence pre-training.
