REDUCTION SALE
Here's a nice package for a breeder - a well related city winning mare in foal with a lovely filly at foot.
A tough race mare who won three races (a Rosehill 1400m contest amongst those) with a further 12 placings on her record, Dashie de Luxe is a half-sister to another durable campaigner in East Indiaman, a Listed winner of eight races from 69 starts.
All nine of the foals produced by Dashie de Luxe's dam Dashie Diva have been winners whilst six of the seven for her grandam, the Last Tycoon mare Livonia, were successful... this is a real running family!
Dashie de Luxe is being sold with a filly by Coolmore Stud's up-and-comer Churchill and in foal to Darley's classy and reliable Astern.
Both matings are of great interest. The Churchill filly is bred on the highly successful Sadler's Wells/Meadowlake cross, one which provides for the duplication of the Gr.1 winning classy broodmare Nothirdchance. There have been 29 stakes winners including five Gr.1 horses bred this way.
The Astern foal will carry an interesting cross of the terrific broodmare Ruby - dam of Astern's third dam sire Euclase and of the champion Rubiton who features in Dashie De Luxe's pedigree. There been only five runners bred this way so far and four of them are winners.
Meanwhile four of Astern's stakes winners have Storm Cat, grandsire of Dashie De Luxe's sire Henny Hughes. And his only runner line-bred to Lomond (5 X 5 here) is the triple Group winner Seradess.
This mare is part of a Quilly Park reduction sale necessitated by property upgrades preparing for composting, seeding and new fencing; requiring reductions in current numbers due to a lack of room. We look forward to our horses doing good things for their new owners and to Quilly Park's future.
