Description

Caffeine is by U.S. Champion sire Medaglia d’Oro, out of the quality mare Pure Energy, a Gr.2 winner and Gr.1-placed, including second in the Gr.1 Golden Slipper and a placing in the Gr.2 Champagne Classic. Pure Energy is also a full sister to Segments, a Gr.2 winner and Gr.1-placed mare.

As a broodmare, Caffeine is already proving her worth. She has a three-year-old filly by Gr.1 producer Alabama Express currently in training with Matt Laurie, Trainer of the incredible three times Gr.1 winner Treasure the Moment. She also has a two-year-old filly by the same sire, Café au Lait, who sold for $250,000 at the Premier Yearling Sale. Café au Lait is currently in training with leading trainer Chris Waller and finished fifth on debut at Warwick Farm in April, highlighting Caffeine’s ability to produce athletic and competitive types that attract top stables and strong market attention. Adding further appeal is her yearling by dual Group 1-winning miler Grunt.

Caffeine is currently in foal to Tagaloa, a dominant Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner by Japanese superstar Lord Kanaloa, Tagaloa has become a trusted source of early speed and precocity. His first and second crop yearlings have sold at up to thirteen times their service fee, and his progeny are trained by Australia’s elite stables.
